Agent & crawler readiness

How completely your product data describes itself, whether AI crawlers can reach your store, and what Shopify's own agent surfaces say about you — measured as facts, with receipts.

In the console: Readiness

Aethos Readiness: the readiness score over four measured checks — completeness, product-data rules, AI crawler access and the Shopify agent surface

Captured from the running app on a demo store.

What ships today

  • Four checks, one controllable score

Catalog completeness, product-data rules, AI crawler access and Shopify's agent surface — blended only over what was actually measured, with unmeasured checks labeled and left out.

  • Crawler access as facts

robots.txt rules plus real page fetches for GPTBot and the other AI crawlers — reported as what happened, never as an indexing promise.

  • Kind-aware grading

Products are graded only on rules that apply to what they are — a gift card is never asked for its fabric. The applicability seam has its own page: catalog intelligence.

  • A receipt under every check

Each check shows what it read — the fetch, the rule, the field — so a number is never the end of the story.

What this does not do
  • Readiness is the part you control, not the part you earn. Good data is what makes a citation possible — it is not what makes one happen. Whether engines actually mention you is measured separately, by the scan.
  • The crawler check reports access, never indexing — it can see whether GPTBot may fetch your pages, not whether it did or what it kept.
  • Checks that have not run are labeled and left out of the score. Aethos does not show sample numbers in the meantime.

Measure the part you control

Every check returns facts and receipts, never a promise.
